This is a painting I've been fighting with for four years...The bottom picture is it a week ago and the top picture is after some work today. Sometimes a painting comes along that I like something about the undercoat and then it goes downhill from there. BUT I think it may be finally finished.

As you can see winter is here. I've been working in greys for the last couple of months, somehow they are not depressing. I am exploring the subtle nature of mist/fog, how it softens and leaves the imagination free to finish what is not seen.

Well, you might think I've haven't been painting, and it's true. I took a year off to teach grade six and only now am I getting back into the swing of things... I've started a new poppy set, I'm trying to capture movement with paint. I'll take some photos tomorrow after a day in the studio. On Tuesday I had the pleasure of painting under pressure... six artist were given a poem to read, we then had half an hour to come up with a piece of art. There were two musician, a poet, a dancer, a drawer, and myself. Well, it was exciting and after a moment of :"Oh no, what do I do." a rather fun and whimsical painting took shape. I'll show it to you soon.
